Fifteen refugees were detained last week in the district of Sobrance in eastern Slovakia, among them six Moldavians, four Somalis, three Chechens and two Georgians, who had illegally crossed the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
Agneša Kopernická, the spokeswoman for the Border Police Directorate told the SITA newswire that five under-age Moldavian citizens ended up in an orphanage in Horné Orechové. One Moldavian and three Chechens have asked for asylum here and were escorted to the refugee camp in Humenné. Two Georgians were returned to Ukraine, while four Somalis are being kept in a detention camp in Sečovce.
