FRANTIŠEK Borovský has quit his post of the general director of private TV JOJ. He was replaced by Marcel Grega, previous executive and financial director of Slovenská Produkčná and the MAC TV, the licence-holder of JOJ, on February 20.
The television has not specified whether Borovský will stay in the JOJ Group, the Omediach.com website reported. Richard Flimel, owner of the JOJ Group, has praised Borovský for the work he has done in past few years.
“Under his leadership new TV channels Plus, Wau and Senzi have been started which have gradually found loyal viewers,” Flimel said, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
JOJ Group is now the second most successful television group in Slovakia, with 25.1 percent average all-day market share in the target group of viewers 12-54 in 2013, TASR wrote.
Borovský started his career in 1990s in local Košice-based televisions Info Kanál and TV Naša, which later changed to TV Global. This television transformed in 2002 to TV JOJ. Between 2003 and 2005 Borovský worked in the public-service Slovak Television, and in 2005 he returned to JOJ to the post of programme director. In 2006 he was programme director for TV Markíza, but one year later he again returned to JOJ, after the changes in the management. He took the post of general director in 2010, Omediach.com reported.
