MUSICIANS, actors and activists showed their solidarity to Ukraine at a concert that took place on March 7 at Bratislava’s Main Square.
“We do realise that what Ukraine is going through now is what we’ve been through in 1968,” Daniel Rabina, the event’s co-organiser, told the Sme daily.
The event, Slovakia for Ukraine, featured performances by several bands, including Collegium Musicum, Michael Kocáb with Karpatské Chrbáty, Zuzana Homolová and Korben Dallas. Several well-known Slovak personalities also delivered speeches. About 300 people attended the concert to protest against the invasion and the violence, as reported by the Sme daily.
“The terror of aggression and violence, of killing, the fear of the animal desire, thousands of injured, dozens of killed, totality,” Emília Vašáryová, an actress of the Slovak National Theatre, described the situation in Ukraine, as quoted by Sme.
