BRATISLAVA has a new attraction. Since early November, a unique work of art entitled House Attack has been dangling upside down from the roof of a building in Mlynské Nivy Street. Its installation required two special cranes and took more than 24 hours, the Nový Čas daily wrote.
Created by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, the piece, in the shape of a family house, is made of metal, fibre-board and roof covering. It measures six by six metres, is 5.5 metres tall, weighs 10 tons and is part of a 1,400-piece art collection owned by the construction firm STRABAG SE, from whose headquarters House Attack now hangs. Until 2006, the upside-down house caught the attention of passers-by from the facade of the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna. It has now been moved to Bratislava, where it will stay for five years.
