Bratislava finished in 32nd place out of 36 cities in Europe for its ease of doing business according to the European Cities Monitor 2011 prepared by Cushman & Wakefield consultancy, the TASR newsier reported.
Bratislava was worse than other regional cities in the survey, as Warsaw finished 21st, Prague was 25th, Bucharest was 27th and Budapest was 29th. The Slovak capital ranked ahead of Oslo, Rome, Moscow and Athens.
London, Paris and Frankfurt were ranked the highest. Despite being ranked high in several categories, Bratislava finished 32nd, which TASR attributed mainly to the city being relatively unknown as a business location.
The report was based on a survey of 501 respondents, mainly senior managers and board directors of major companies in European countries.
