The Finance Ministry’s early proposal for budget 2003, which the cabinet is to discuss on Wednesday, projects a deficit of Sk35-40 billion (3 per cent of GDP) on income of Sk224.1 billion and expenditures of Sk260-265 billion. GDP is expected to reach Sk1.142 trillion in current prices, with growth from 2002 expected at 4.1 per cent. Inflation is pegged at 7 per cent and unemployment at 18.5 per cent.
