Building at Slovak University of Technology catches fire

Downtown Bratislava witnessed a thick black plume of smoke in the early evening of Thursday, May 23, when the Slovak University of Technology’s building of the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology caught on fire. The tvnoviny.sk webportal wrote that the fire, which started shortly before 19:00, was caused by an explosion. About 22 firefighters arrived to put out the blaze.

According to the Sme daily, the fire struck the laboratories in the upper floors and the roof of the building.
