A horrific bus crash in Croatia on September 7 killed 14 Slovaks, mostly older people from the east of the country on their way to a holiday by the sea.
The bus veered off the road in the early morning hours and struck a bridge abutment, crushing the right front side of the vehicle. Thirty-one people were injured in the crash, which killed both bus drivers.
A day of national mourning was declared in Slovakia from September 9 to 10.
