Business' favourite MPs and parties

THE SLOVAK Business Alliance published a report on the voting records of MPs and parties in parliament that showed that the Hungarian Coalition Party and Ivan Šimko, the chairman of Free Forum party, vote the most in line with the expectations of the business sphere.

The alliance counted the votes of legislators and parties as a whole on 34 laws influencing the business world, the Slovak daily SME wrote.

Hungarian party votes agreed with 77.6 percent of the business sector's ideas. The votes of the ruling New Citizen's Alliance met 77.5 percent of business expectations, and PM Mikuláš Dzurinda's Slovak Democratic and Christian Party acted in line with 76.3 percent of the alliance’s wishes.

The corresponding rate of the opposition party Smer was 29.9 percent, and the second strongest opposition party, the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia, scored 21.7 percent.

In the MP category, Šimko’s votes were 90.9 percent in line with the ideas of the business world, followed by Robert Nemcsics, former economy minister and currently an independent MP, who scored 83.3 percent. Third was New Citizen's Alliance MP Imrich Hamarčák with 82.4 percent.
