Jozef Holjenčík should remain the head of the Regulatory Office for Network Industries (ÚRSO). On Wednesday, October 24, the cabinet decided to nominate him for another term.

"We are passing on this proposal to the president, who has the ultimate power to decide on the candidate," Prime Minister Robert Fico said, as quoted by the SITA newswire. He said the cabinet was acting in line with the new law on regulation in network industries which merges the office of ÚRSO chairman with the office of chairman of the Council for Regulation. Holjenčík already holds the position of chairman of the Council for Regulation, which serves as the appellate body of the regulatory office. Since his appointment in 2007, he has also served as the interim head of ÚRSO, since neither the first government of Robert Fico nor the government of Iveta Radičová was able to appoint a separate the chairman for the regulator itself.
