THE SLOVAK cabinet on April 20 passed the so-called “funeral law”, which regulates funerals and cemeteries, as well as the embalming and transportation of deceased persons, the TASR news agency reported.
Until now this area was regulated only by a decree.
The draft, prepared by the Health Ministry, stipulates that human remains must be handled with dignity. It also defines specific cases when the remains cannot be adjusted, conserved, or embalmed due to health protection reasons.
