CANNABIS seeds should be dropped from the list of illegal narcotics in Slovakia as of March 15, after President Ivan Gašparovič inked the relevant legislation on February 11.

Conversely, eight substances will be added to the blacklist, including buphedrone, desoxypipradrol and 4-methylamphetamine.

At the same time, an intoxicant called GBH (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) will be reclassified from the 3rd group of narcotics to the less-restricted 2nd group based on a resolution of the United Nations. This will allow doctors to prescribe drugs containing this substance.
