Case against former FNM brass to proceed

The Bratislava region court overturned a lower court ruling and decided to proceed with bribery charges against two former senior members of the FNM privatisation agency under the 1994-1998 Vladimír Mečiar government.

FNM head Štefan Gavorník and former Privatisation Minister Peter Bisák allegedly took over Sk19 million ($480,000) in bribes in the privatisation of the SMZ and Elektroystemy firms. The Bratislava II district court had sent the case back for further investigation.
