THE CZECH company ČEZ will submit an offer for the purchase of a 66 percent stake in the Slovak power producer Slovenské elektrárne (SE), the state run news agency TASR wrote.

"Our company will proceed independently, without cooperating with another firm," ČEZ chief executive Martin Roman said.

ČEZ is one of five firms that have held a high interest in SE even before the July 21 deadline for submitting final offers for the stake.

The other firms include Russian RAO UES, Italian Enel, German E.ON, and Austrian Verbund.

RAO UES has indicated that it would bid in a consortium of firms.
