Christian Democrats attack plans to slim down public administration

Font size: A - | A +

Christian Democrats' deputy Pavol Abrhan has criticized the public administration analysis that Interior Minister Róbert Kaliňák presented to parliament on March 20.Abrhan said on March 21 that the analysis does not clearly outline the government's intentions in the public administration sector this year. The only concrete task it offers is the decision to cancel the central government's regional offices. Moreover, the analysis does not evaluate the effects of the government's decision to lay off one-fifth of all civil servants. The analysis, said Abrhan, gives no reasons for such a cut and therefore is an unprofessional, populist and political decision that does not address the quality of the administration's real performance.
