THE CHRISTIAN Democrats (KDH) will boycott the private TV Markíza and will categorically deny any statements or comments from the television station.
The KDH feels that TV Markíza has been failing to meet the basic ethical and political criteria of journalism, the daily SME writes. The KDH referred to a survey published by media watchdog organization MEMO 98, which confirmed cases of "evident manipulation of public opinion".
The editor in chief of Markíza prime time news, Ľubomír Karásek, said the statement was unfair.
KDH politicians will not provide any information to Markíza reporters, or attend political discussions broadcast by the TV station.
TV Markíza, which in the past was co-owned by Pavol Rusko, the boss of the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO), is the most popular TV station in Slovakia.
