Christian Democrats would return to the parliament

Seven political parties would make it to the parliament if the elections took place in late June, with one of them being the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH). The party dropped out in March for the first time since 1990, missing only 0.06 percentage points to pass the threshold.

The elections would be won by Smer which would garner 26.2 percent of the vote. Second would be the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party with 16.6 percent and the Slovak National Party (SNS) with 13.5 percent, according to the poll carried out by Polis agency for the SITA newswire between June 25 and July 1 on 1,433 respondents.

Other parties which would garner enough support to make it to the house include Kotleba - People’s Party Our Slovakia with 10.7 percent of the vote, the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO-NOVA) with 9 percent, Most-Híd with 5.4 percent and KDH with 5.1 percent of the vote.

The We Are Family party of Boris Kollár would not make it to the parliament, as it would be supported only by 4.8 percent of respondents. Also the current coalition party Sieť would be out, supported only by 1.1 percent of respondents, SITA reported.

Polis counted the preferences from a 60-percent turnout. As many as 20 percent of respondents said they would not attend the elections, while the remaining 20 percent were undecided.
