Citizens plan protest against new governor for November 29

CIVIC activists shocked by the victory of far-right leader Marian Kotleba in the Banská Bystrica regional election are organising a public gathering in the city for Friday, November 29, activist and Banská Bystrica city councillor Vladimír Pirošík told the TASR newswire.

The activists chose Friday as the date for the gathering, as this is the day that new regional councillors are sworn into office, and Kotleba should be installed as governor.

Pirošík said that further details on the gathering are yet to be decided upon. There may be a concert or some other form of rally.

"It'll certainly be a cultivated expression of indignation over the result of the election. Kotleba was elected in a democratic manner, which we respect, but we want to express our civic attitude," Pirošík told TASR.
