The salt, which melts ice and snow at temperatures as low as -23 degrees Celsius and which has anti-corrosive properties, will be used on the Old, New and Apollo Bridges. It will also be used in the pedestrian zone of the city centre, at the Železná Studnička recreation resort, on some stretches of the highway in Petržalka and in hilly parts of Bratislava.

Deputy Mayor Milan Cílek announced on November 12 that this will save city funds because the new salt, can be thinned down, allowing the city to use 12.5 percent less of it daily.
