Recently appointed general prosecutor Jaromír Čižnár allegedly does not want former general prosecutor Dobroslav Trnka and current deputy general prosecutor Dobroslav Trnka to serve in their current top posts at the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Sme daily reported on July 20.
One of the candidates for the deputy top prosecutor post could be René Vanek, Čižnár’s current deputy and close co-operator. The General Prosecutor’s Office has so far declined to comment on this information, saying that Čižnár will announce personnel changes by the end of this week.
Smer MPs have not commented on whether Trnka and Tichý should become ordinary prosecutors, or should remain in their top posts at the prosecutor’s office. The only one who has so far said that they should stay in their posts is Mojmír Mamojka, who told Sme in a recent interview that 99 percent of what Trnka and Tichý have done is good.
