Theatrical performances in English are due to take place in Bratislava soon, with the Bridgin' Drama theatre set to put on the comedy Tajovsky Ruulezz! at the Zichy Palace seven times over the summer, starting today, Friday July 19, theatre press manager Michaela Vrabová announced.
Tajovsky Ruulezz! is an English adaptation of Slovak writer Jozef Gregor Tajovský's comedy 'Ženský zakon' (Women's Law).
"Our performances aren't only meant for foreign tourists, who will be able to learn about our culture in this way, but also for people from Bratislava who want to practise their English," said Vrabová for the TASR newswire, adding that another play in the repertoire will be Ivan Stodola's play 'Čaj u pána senatora' (Tea with the Senator), later this year.
The Bridgin' Drama theatre was set up by Slovak and foreign English-speaking lecturers from the Bridge language centre in 2012. The plays are directed by Zuzana Bírešová, with acting consultations provided by professional actor Lucia Hurajová. The project is also supported by the Bratislava Staré Mesto local authority.
