Kováč said KDH will seek to make sure that a new General Prosecutor will be elected post-haste, adding that this is why KDH will press for an extraordinary parliamentary session for the vote and that ideally the special session would take place even before parliament's regular session scheduled for May.

Additionally, KDH wants the special parliamentary session to discuss Slovakia's response to Hungary's new constitution, said Kováč.

KDH's initiative comes after a verdict by the Constitutional Court last week which stated that the constitutional rights of former General Prosecutor Dobroslav Trnka were violated when parliament voted most recently in December 2010, stating that coalition MPs obstructed the vote by taking their ballots out of the room.
