A further split is developing in the cabinet over northern and southern routes for a planned motorway link between Bratislava and Košice.
While the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) and the Christian Democrats (KDH) favour a northern route, which is already under construction, the Hungarian Coalition (SMK) and New Citizen's Alliance (ANO) are pushing for construction of a southern route.
SMK leader Béla Bugár pointed out that the southern motorway would be cheaper to construct.
"This concern is a tenth of the price. There is no need to build bridges or tunnels for the southern route," he argued.
