Font size: A - | A +

On March 27, the ruling Slovak coalition parties submitted a joint draft declaration on the Slovak government's position on the UN’s plan for the future status of Kosovo.

Parliament dealt with the draft on that day along with other draft declarations on Kosovo that had been previously submitted to parliament. The declaration stipulates that "the full independence of Kosovo without any restrictions will not contribute towards stability of the region, which has been subject to tragedies and crises for many years".

The ruling coalition parties point out that the future status of Kosovo must be based on the United Nations Charter and international law and cannot set a precedent for the future. They explain that neither Kosovo nor Serbia are ready for a solution which would provide independence to Kosovo.
