Bratislava's Comenius University (UK) has ranked 527th in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) survey for 2012/2013, which evaluates the top 2000 higher education institutions in the world, the TASR newswire reported.
“All the parameters of the URAP ranking, created by the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, stem from objective and measurable parameters, which make it particularly valuable,” UK's Andrea Főldváryová said, as quoted by TASR. “Compared to last year the oldest and the biggest Slovak university improved its ranking by 19 positions.”
Karol Mičieta, UK's chancellor, sees the improvement in the university’s position as confirmation of its efforts to create good conditions for science, research and study.
The next Slovak university in the ranking was the Slovak University of Technology (STU), which ended in 1002nd position.
The ranking is set based on indicators like number of articles published, citations, total documents, journal impact total, journal citation impact total, and international cooperation.
