The Slovak National Party (SNS) was unsuccessful in its complaint to the Parliamentary Mandate and Immunity Committee against the opposition Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) Chairman Pál Csáky.
On February 12, the committee refused to censure Csáky for statements he made in Budapest, in which he called the SNS an ultra-nationalist and extremist party, the SITA newswire wrote.
Instead, the committee accepted a proposal from SMK deputy Gyula Bárdos that the case not be discussed at all. KDH MP Mária Sabolová told journalists afterwards that the committee did not have jurisdiction over the matter, as the statement was not made on the floor of the Slovak parliament. SITA
