SLOVAK Communist Party (KSS) representatives have called the leaders of the right wing Civic Conservative Party (OKS), Peter Osuský, František Šebej and Peter Tatár, "anti-people forces who fear losing their exploitative positions in society".
The KSS was reacting to an OKS draft law which, if approved, would put fascism and communism on an equal level, and would introduce penalties for public denial of communist crimes.
The KSS's central committee stated June 18 that it was impossible for anyone to prove that communists had committed crimes against humanity, because communism had never existed in the former Czechoslovakia. Before the 1989 Velvet Revolution Czechoslovakia experienced socialism rather than pure communism, the KSS argued.
