Communists deny links to Saddam

The Slovak Communist Party (KSS) allegedly received 4 million barrels of oil in 1999 from Saddam Hussein, the French on-line Middle East information service Proche Orient suggested.

The server translated data from the recently published list that, according to the Pravda daily, includes 200 parties, individuals, and companies who received oil in return for their loyalty to Saddam in the 1990s.

The SME daily wrote on January 29 that KSS officials denied having any links to Saddam, as did former head of the ex-ruling, reformed communist, Party of the Democratic Left Jozef Migaš.
