THE SLOVAK Communist Party (KSS) allegedly received 4 million barrels of oil in 1999 from Saddam Hussein, the French online Middle Eastern information service Proche Orient suggested.
The server translated data from a recently published list that, according to the Pravda daily, includes 200 parties, individuals, and companies that received oil in return for their loyalty to Saddam in the 1990s.
The daily SME wrote on January 29 that KSS officials denied having any links to Saddam, as did Jozef Migaš, the former head of the ex-ruling Party of the Democratic Left.
The KSS has said it may file a complaint with the United Nations.
