Construction on the rise

Construction output this June exceeded June 1995 by 5.1 percent, while the daily average output was 15.6 percent higher, Národná obroda reported. For the first six months of this year, construction output reached 25.8 billion Sk, 2.3 percent more than in the same period last year. Of this, domestic construction increased 7.4 percent and construction abroad declined by 27 percent. Highways boost Doprastav

The firm's projects - most of which were highway construction financed from the state budget - had a total value of more than 900 million Sk.

Construction firm opens store

SMZ, a construction materials producer in the central Slovak town of Jelšava, invested 22 million Sk in a new store it opened in Revúca, 15 kilometers to the northwest, according to SMZ management.
