Consumer prices in Slovakia increased 4.4 percent year-on-year in October, the country’s Statistics Office announced on November 11, with a monthly increase of 0.2 percent.
Annual prices increases were reported as follows: transport (7.3 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, and education (both by 6 percent), health care (4.7 percent), alcoholic drinks and tobacco (4.1 percent), miscellaneous goods and services (3.9 percent), hotels, cafes and restaurants (3.3 percent), and clothes and footwear (2.4 percent).
A slight growth in prices was registered in recreation and culture (0.4 percent), postal and telecommunications services (0.2 percent) and furniture and ordinary household maintenance (both 0.1 percent).
