Consumer prices in Slovakia went up by 3.6 percent year-on-year in September, according to the data presented by the Statistics Office. Yet, compared to August 2012 they increased very slightly, only by 0.3 percent, the TASR newswire reported.
The core inflation stood at 3.1 percent in September, while the net inflation amounted to 2.6 percent in the same month. The inflation rate during the first nine months of 2012 rose by 3.7 percent year-on-year.
In an annual terms prices grew in the following sectors: in transport by 8.1 percent, in education by 6 percent, in health care by 5.6 percent, in food products and non-alcoholic beverages by 5.2 percent, in miscellaneous goods and services by 3.9 percent, in hotels, cafés and restaurants by 3.3 percent, in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 3 percent, in alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 2.7 percent, in recreation and culture by 2.1 percent, in clothing and footwear by 1.7 percent, in postal and telecommunications services by 0.8 percent, and in furniture, household equipment and ordinary household maintenance by 0.5 percent.
