Core inflation in Slovakia remained unchanged at 2.4 percent year-on-year in August, compared with the previous month.
Core inflation measures growth of consumer prices, excluding regulated prices and administrative interventions in the area of taxes.
Monthly core inflation was zero in August, which is 0.1 percentage points more than in the previous month, the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic reported on September 11.
Slovakia posted monthly net inflation of 0.1 percent in August, which is the same level as in July.
Net inflation excludes the effects of food price development. In year-on-year terms, net inflation fell from 2.4 percent in July to 2.3 percent in August. The average net inflation for the first eight months of 2007 was 2.4 percent.
Headline inflation year-on-year remained at 2.3 percent in August, compared with July.
The average consumer prices for the first eight months of 2007 rose 2.6 percent year-on-year, which was the same level as the average inflation for the first seven months of this year.
