A DISTRICT court in Skalica released Belgian citizen Luc Debuyser, who last week illegally stormed through border crossings on his way in and out of Slovakia, the news wire TASR reported.
The Belgian “road warrior”, accused of illegally crossing the state border by Slovak authorities, will be investigated at large.
Driving a BMW limousine, the 43-year-old man ran amok through Slovakia on February 16, first smashing through a customs checkpoint at the Czech border and then doing the same around 12 hours later at the Hungarian border.
He was not detained until after arriving in Budapest on February 18. He was arrested there and deported to Slovakia on February 20, since he had committed only a minor offence in Hungary.
Czech authorities are charging Debuyser with the armed attack of a public official.
