HEALTH Minister Rudolf Zajac announced on April 13 that a Bratislava court had called a halt to the strike by the capital's hospitals.
The court issued a preliminary injunction obliging doctors and nurses to provide the full scope of health care to patients.
When they went on strike a week ago, the hospital employees decided to treat only acute cases.
Apart from Bratislava's Teaching Hospital, the directors of hospitals in Prešov, Martin and Banská Bystrica have also turned to the courts to stop the strike. According to the SME daily it was likely that the respective courts would decide in the same way as the Bratislava court.
