Political openness watchdog Fair-Play Alliance will no longer have to censor its znasichdani.sk ('from our taxes') website, on which it publishes information about private companies that have won orders from the state. The site, which was launched in March this year, includes details of who owns, represents or controls the companies in question.
The Regional Court in Bratislava ruled on Thursday, September 29, that a preliminary court order which had forced Fair-Play Alliance to remove from the site the name of Strabag representative Jarmila Považanová be overturned. The construction company manager contends that publication of her name on the website infringes her personality rights, the Sme daily wrote on Friday, September 30. The cancellation of the preliminary court order does not affect the suit that Považanová has filed, in which she is seeking €10,000 in damages from Fair-Play Alliance.
