Court: Slota didn’t urinate

The Žilina regional court has ruled that the Nový Čas daily paper, a tabloid which enjoys Slovakia’s highest circulation, must pay Žilina Mayor Ján Slota Sk5 million ($105,000) in damages for “publishing false and misleading” information that the nationalist leader had urinated from the balcony of Bratislava’s Buducnosť restaurant while drunk in 1999.

The paper must also print a retraction. The decision is final, and cannot be appealed.
