The cabinet has accused judges in courts nationwide of slowing the prosecution of infamous crimes allegedly committed under the 1994-1998 Vladimír Mečiar government. Ministers say police have finished investigations of fraud in the secret service, the kidnapping of the former president’s son, a bomb planted at a Christian Democrats party rally and an attempt to discredit a bishop. The courts, however, have in many cases not even set trial dates in the cases.
