Towards the end of day on Thursday, August 30, the Slovak crown was being traded at 33.705/33.720 SKK/EUR, representing slight firming by some 4 hellers, OTP Banka Slovensko dealer Eduard Pracko has said.
During the course of the day, the US dollar slightly strengthened. Paradoxically, the CEE region's other currencies, namely the Hungarian forint and Polish zloty, strengthened along with the dollar. According to Pracko, typically when the US dollar firms, the Slovak crown and other CEE region currencies weaken.
The crown today firmed, although just slightly, also against the Czech currency, and finished at 1.219/1.220 SKK/CZK. Against the US dollar, the Slovak crown slightly eased at the end of the day, finishing at 24.740/24.750 SKK/USD.
According to the dealer, no major movement should be expected in the days ahead, and the rate should move around Sk33.7 per euro. TASR
