IN SPITE of the French rejection of the EU Constitutional Treaty, it is necessary to continue with the ratification process, Slovak and Czech Deputy Premiers Pal Csáky and Pavel Nemec agreed on Monday in Bratislava, the TASR news agency reported.
"Despite the failure in France, the current government will continue the ratification process and will prepare for it in the Czech Republic," said Nemec, who is also the Czech Justice Minister.
Csáky said that, "The European Commission should analyse this situation and submit a proposal to the European Council to manage further procedures. A more serious situation would arise if problems with the ratification of the Constitutional Treaty also appear in other countries."
