Csáky outlines Roma projects

DEPUTY PM Pál Csáky outlined three new projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the Roma community.

He told a November 30 press conference that an educational project is underway for the Slovak Roma, to which the European Union has contributed €1.7 million and the Slovak government €700,000. The money will be distributed to 22 primary school facilities, the SITA news agency wrote.

A project to support the implementation of new anti-discriminatory legislation is also underway. The EU has allocated €700,000 for the project and Slovakia €100,000.

Finally, a project designed to give the Roma community better access to healthcare has been set up by the Slovak Health Ministry. The project is worth €1.7 million of which the EU contributed €1.3 million.
