Csáky to sue Slota for slander

Font size: A - | A +

Ethnic-Hungarian party (SMK) leader Pál Csáky announced on September 26 that he plans to sue Slovak National Party (SNS) chairman Ján Slota for slander.

The case arises from a recent situation in which Slota said that after 1938, some ethnic Hungarians living in the south of Slovakia behaved worse than Nazis. The SMK responded by saying that Slota was the "shame of Slovak public life", to which the SNS leader said that Csáky was "a boor, a puke, and rotten manure". Slota then called Csáky "the offspring of Horthy's Hungary".

The slander suit will be submitted in the next days by Csáky's attorney (and SMK MP) Gábor Gál, who is better known from his brief engagement as the attorney of Hedviga Malinová. TASR
