Two cyclists from Moravia (the Czech Republic) filmed a unique video while down hilling. Petr and Alan were cycling in the Malinô Brdo Bike Park . Alan had a camera attached to his helmet to film the way.
After several curves and jumps a bear dashes from the right hand side. Alan stops his bicycle and warns his friend. The bear runs along the side of the path for a while and then disappears again in the forest.
Dušan Vinžík, who published the video on Youtube, got hundreds of e-mails and several phone calls the same day.
“I had to turn off my mobile phone,” said Vinžík as quoted by the Sme Daily. "People from the US, Britain and Germany and every corner of world were calling me."
The video was shared by dozens of media networks and belongs among the most successful in May on Youtube. The video had more than 10 million views up to today.
“We made our park and region more visible to the world,” said Vinžík, as quoted by Sme. He thinks that meeting a bear in this region is not a rarity.
“I am also a cyclist and I have met a bear before, even though not so close,” continues Vinžík, adding that bears are usually shy.
“Also this one was scared after he ran into the bikers,” said Vinžík.
The two cyclists from Moravia continued to ride for the whole day, even though they probably looked more carefully at the forest than on the way, Vinžík summed up.
