Media server Radioweb reported that Slovak Economy Minister Pavol Rusko lobbied for the private TV channel Markíza in the Czech Republic, the daily SME wrote.
The head of the Czech Telecommunication Office, David Stádník, said that Minister Rusko, who is the former director and one-time co-owner of Markíza, asked him to speed up the coordination of an analogue channel for the Slovak network.
Rusko insists that he simply called Stádník to get the latest information.
TV Markíza representatives deny asking Rusko to lobby for them. The network only has a Slovak broadcast license and thus it cannot enter the Czech market.
