Following a small improvement in March output and sales in Slovak industry, the pace of the decline in Slovakia's exports also slowed down. According to preliminary data from the Statistics Office, Slovakia's exports in March reached €3.352 billion, which was a decline of 20.1 percent y-o-y. However, it was an improvement from February's drop of 32 percent and January's fall of 33.6 percent, the SITA newswire reported.
Imports shrank by 23.1 percent to €3.27 billion in March. In February, imports were lower by 33.6 percent than in the same period a year ago. Slovakia's trade balance thus showed a surplus in March for the second month in a row of €81.9 million. SITA
