Employees of cable-bundle producer Delphi Slovakia were set to stage a protest in front of the plant in Senica (Trnava Region) at 6:00-7:00 on Friday, November 23, to express their discontent at planned mass layoffs and the company's plans to move away from Slovakia, the TASR newswire learnt.
According to head of the firm's trade unions, Viera Vrábliková, representatives of the KOVO trade union and the Confederation of Trade Union Associations (KOZ) were also due to appear at the protest on Friday. The company recently announced that it would make 85 people redundant by the end of the year, and another 540 by June 2014. The company currently has 700 employees.
