Delphi, the largest global producer of auto components, has decided to locate a new factory in Slovakia rather than the Czech Republic as earlier planned, because of what Czech state investment officials have said is cheaper Slovak labour.
The investment is worth about Sk300 million ($6.8 million) and will employ 200-250 people.
Company and investment officials refused to give further details. Delphi already has a plant in western Slovakia’s Senica, which it opened in May 2002.
