The Denník N daily won its third dispute with the financial group Penta, after judge Viera Sládečková from the Bratislava III District Court dismissed the lawsuit concerning the duty to publish a correction.
The financial group complained about a story authored by the daily’s deputy editor-in-chief Konštantín Čikovský in which he wrote that it is not an accident that Penta can take advantage of the laws of the ruling Smer party. One of the laws they were involved with concerns the ban on a fee for receiving treatment or having a doctor's appointment at a certain time, Denník N wrote on its website.
The judge claimed that the objected quotations have been fully proved by the statements of public officials.
Penta still can appeal the verdict.
The financial group has submitted altogether nine lawsuits against the publisher of the daily, with two of them already being dismissed by the Bratislava III District Court, Denník N wrote.
