THE SLOVAK cabinet accepted the resignation of Deputy Health Minister Alexandra Novotná on December 7.
The deputy minister did not explain the reasons for her resignation, however. She only stated that it had nothing to do with the recent refusal of the Labour Ministry to shift responsibility for social medical aid to the Health Ministry, the SITA news agency wrote.
Novotná took up the post in April this year, replacing Ján Gajdoš who became director of the healthcare supervision authority, ÚDZS.
Novotná started working at the ministry as a spokeswoman and later joined Health Minister Rudolf Zajac's reform team. She then worked as the first director of the ÚDZS to be replaced by Gajdoš.
