THE SLOVAK cabinet accepted the resignation of Deputy Health Minister Alexandra Novotná on December 7.
The deputy minister did not explain the reasons for her resignation. She said, however, that it had nothing to do with the Labour Ministry's refusal to move the responsibility for social medicine over to the Health Ministry, the SITA news agency reported.
Novotná took up her post in April of this year, replacing Ján Gajdoš when he accepted Novotná's previous job as the director of the ÚDZS, the Slovak healthcare supervision authority.
Novotná started working at the ministry as a spokeswoman and later joined Health Minister Rudolf Zajac's reform team.
